What We Believe

We affirm the Holy Bible as the Inspired Word of God.

Lynnhaven Baptist Church receives the Scriptures as its authority in matters of faith and practice. Its understanding of Christian truth as contained therein is in essential accord with the beliefs of the Southern Baptist churches as indicated in the Articles of Faith.

Articles of Faith

We affirm the Holy Bible as the Inspired Word of God and the basis of our beliefs. Our Church subscribes to the doctrinal statements of the ‘Baptist faith and Message’ as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention of 2000. We voluntarily band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ; personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind. The ordinances of the church are believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Our Purpose

-To be a dynamic spiritual body empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all people in our church, community and throughout the world.

-To be a worshipping fellowship, experiencing an awareness of God, recognizing His person, and to respond in obedience to His leadership.

-To experience an increasingly meaningful fellowship with God and fellow believers.

-To help people experience a growing knowledge of God and man.

-To be a church which ministers unselfishly to persons in the community and the world in Jesus’ name.

-To be a church whose purpose is to be Christ-like in our daily living by emphasizing total commitment of life, personality, and possessions to the Lordship of Christ.

-To be a mission-ordinated church that has a solid foundation of Christ followers.

-To be strongly recognized as a conservative non-Calvinistic Biblically sound church under the guidance of our Lord’s Holy Spirit and following the “Baptist Faith and Message 2000”.
